It's the phone tree on the day of the accident. It's discovering an exclusion while standing in a flooded living room. It's finding out the policy lapsed four months ago because a card expired and nobody said anything.
None of that is really about insurance. It's about nobody being accountable for you personally. A policy is a contract; what's usually missing is a human being who knows your file and picks up when you ring.

Guardian Life and Guardian General
We're an agency, not an insurer. Your policy is issued and your claim is paid by the underwriting company — so which company that is matters enormously.
Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited handles our long-term business: individual and group life, health, pensions and annuities.
Guardian General Insurance Limited handles the general side: motor, property, liability, marine, bonding and travel. It traces its roots through more than a century of general insurance in Trinidad and Tobago.
Both sit within the Guardian Group. When we tell a client their claim will be honoured, that's the balance sheet standing behind the sentence — not ours.
